Wedding rehearsal in Florence, Italy

Hi there, I’m Danielle, a thirty-something-year-old living in NYC with my husband, Tyler, and dog, Oliver. Monday through Friday, I work in communications at a tech company, and when I’m not working, you can find me planning (or taking) a trip. I created this blog as a virtual travel diary of sorts, but also to share any great itineraries and travel tips with fellow travel lovers. And if no one else but my grandma reads this, that’s okay too!

At the age of 14, I took my first international trip to London, which sparked a lifelong passion for travel, and I haven’t stopped exploring since. A few years later, I found myself studying abroad in Italy, where I quickly realized that hostel life wasn’t quite my cup of tea. But on a student budget, it was going to take some careful planning to stretch my dollar. It made me realize that amazing experiences don’t have to cost a fortune, nor do they require sharing a bathroom with strangers.

Whether it’s Boston for 36 hours or a 3-week trip to Southeast Asia, I love researching and planning itineraries. Nothing makes me happier than sitting down on a Saturday morning and compiling a list of the best sights, activities, and restaurants to plug into an itinerary. I haven’t won the lottery just yet, so it’s important to me to create travel that’s both extraordinary and affordable. Between some really good research, airline miles, and credit card points, I pride myself on always being cost-conscious…without sacrificing luxury.

I also quickly learned that the most popular travel destinations and sights earned that title for a reason—because they’re iconic! For me, being adventurous isn’t confined to backpacking across India. Sometimes you just want to see the Eiffel Tower or eat the best gelato, and if that’s considered basic, then fine by me! No matter where you are or what you’re doing, there’s space for adventure on the beaten path.
